Taking friends and family out to sea is one of the greatest pleasures of owning a yacht. The beauty of owning a private yacht is the ability to reach places inaccessible to ordinary tourists—such as private beaches, hidden diving spots, and exclusive fishing locations—allowing you to enjoy various activities on and under the water.

Yacht Activities

When the yacht anchors at these hidden gems and the bow aligns with the wind, the vessel will inevitably sway due to wind and waves. The intensity of this motion depends on the sea conditions, making onboard comfort absolutely crucial.

Princess Yachts F50 Flybridge Yacht with Gyrostabilizers

Princess F50

All models from Princess Yachts come standard with gyrostabilizers. The F50 is equipped with a Seakeeper marine gyrostabilizer in the bilge—a computer-controlled device capable of eliminating up to 95% of boat roll caused by waves.

Its proprietary design is inspired by aerospace technology, centered around a powerful steel flywheel that spins at high speeds in a vacuum. This eliminates air friction and minimizes weight, heat generation, and power consumption.

Seakeeper’s precision engineering allows the flywheel to spin at speeds of up to 9,750 RPM within a vacuum enclosure. When the boat rolls, the gyro tilts fore and aft (precession), generating a powerful gyroscopic torque to port and starboard that counteracts the vessel's motion, providing a robust and comfortable experience for the Princess F50.

Seakeeper Gyrostabilizer Demo

At boat shows, Seakeeper invites attendees onboard to experience the system. They are asked to rock the boat, causing it to sway violently. Once the Seakeeper is activated, the boat becomes rock-solid, and they can no longer make it sway. Please see the video below.

All participants have expressed: "OMG... this is incredible." The difference in stability is so significant that the technology is truly impressive!

Princess Yachts Performance with Seakeeper

With this equipment, the Princess F50 handles all sea conditions with ease, whether at rest or underway. Once you experience it, you will realize that this maritime stabilization technology is both practical and offers stunning results.

As seen in the video, data shows that the Princess Yacht effectively reduces sway by 92%. This level of stabilization significantly enhances both onboard comfort at anchor and stability while cutting through waves.

The control and status of the gyrostabilizer are integrated into the Princess F50 helm, featuring an intuitive user interface that allows you to see the stabilization levels at a glance.
